What is VMware Cloud on AWS?

VMware Cloud on AWS is a subscription-based service that enables VMware Managed Service Provider partners to provide VMware Cloud on AWS infrastructure as a service to their customers. The main advantage for service providers is this is an asset light model, permitting very agile response to customer demand for resources. As a managed service from VMware, SDDC infrastructure support is covered, whilst the service provider still directly supports their customer(s) and manages their own terms of service. Powered by VMware Cloud Foundation, this service integrates vSphere, vSAN, and NSX, along with VMware vCenter management, it is optimized to run on dedicated, elastic, bare-metal AWS infrastructure. Service providers can manage the SDDC for their customers in a fully managed model today, with familiar VMware tools. Increased flexibility and diversity is provided by enabling access to AWS from the VMware Cloud on AWS environment allowing providers to differentiate and grow their revenue opportunities.
