Many Paths to Migration - One Journey to Success.

Your method of migration will depend on whether your services are based on a multi-tenant public cloud environment using the VMware Cloud Director or a dedicated private cloud environment without VMware Cloud Director, as well as an assessment to determine pre-requisites, minimize migration downtime and verifying post-migration success. Regardless of the method, you have the resources and support from VMware to make it happen.

Adopt Zero-Trust Security

Microsegmentation for L4-L7 advanced threat protection in private and public cloud environments.

Extend Networking Across Clouds

Multi-cloud enabling for seamless connectivity, consistent policy across clouds, rapid workload mobility and more…

Provide Container Networking and Services

Full-stack networking and security for containerized application workloads.

Modernize with Advanced Load Balancing

Software-defined load balancers or Application Delivery Controllers that deliver agility, scale and significant TCO savings.

Multi-tenant Public Cloud Environment

For a multi-tenant environment, if your assessment indicates that you are using VMware Cloud Director features already supported by VMware NSX-T, you can start right away by downloading the VMware NSX Migration for VMware Cloud Director, to facilitate an automatic migration of VMware Cloud Director environments. If you are using features of VMware Cloud Director not currently supported with VMware NSX-T, please stay tuned – we are working on future releases and will provide updates as they become available.

Dedicated Private Cloud Environment

As a cloud provider deploying a dedicated NSX for vSphere environment that doesn’t use VMware Cloud Director, you can start migrating today. Broadly, depending on your environment, you could use either the “In-place” method, which doesn’t require additional dedicated hardware, or the “In-parallel” method, that deploys NSX-T alongside the NSX for vSphere environment to facilitate migration over time. If your topology is supported, you should use the Migration Coordinator.  Learn more about each through the resources below.
